This survey will close on July 19th.

Hi,

My name is Larry Whelan. Up until two months ago I was a member of the Whitetail Architectural Control Committee.

I'm sure you've see the construction going on over on Deer Draw. A few of the neighbors near the intersection of Deer Draw and CR 176 have signed an agreement with the City of Georgetown. Total cost for 950 feet of 8" water pipe and connection fees is $136371.00.  Cost per homeowner is roughly $12,000 per participating home. These costs do not include the homeowner cost to trench from the Georgetown water line to the participating home.

All this activity spurred me and two of my neighbors, Kent Brenneman and Mike Graeber, into action. We have formed a new water exploratory committee. We are not affiliated in any way with any other Whitetail organization. We are, however, replacing the activities of the previous water committee.

A few weeks ago we had our first meeting. At that meeting we agreed on a few things. One was our preliminary mission statement: "We facilitate the organization of a healthier, more economical water supply that will help Whitetail flourish as a destination community."

We initially want to keep our group small because we really don't have much to do yet and we want to keep the process moving quickly.  We have each committed a block of time per week so that we can guarantee that things get done in a timely manner. If the time it takes to do everything we need to do eventually exceeds the amount of time we have committed then please rest assured that we are going to ask for your help right away. We're also going to self-fund our duties until the burden becomes unreasonable. As soon as it is then we'll ask you for funds.
We realize that we are not the first people that have tried to help our neighbors with water. That's why We're going to be talking to everyone we can that has been involved in coming up with ways to supply water to our neighborhood. If you've been involved in water in the past 10 years you'll be getting a call from one of us.

The final agreement we made with each other is a fairly obvious one: We answer to you, our fellow neighbors. Our goals are established by you.

Therefore we are going to be surveying you regularly to get direction from you. We are going to do this because we're attacking this project with no preconceived notions that we know what you're thinking or what you want.
When a survey is complete We'll tell you the survey results as soon as we compile them. When we hit big milestones we'll announce meetings and disclose everything including direction and next steps.

So, in order to get our goals straight and also finalize our mission statement you are invited to participate in our first survey.

We recognize that water has been a contentious issue in the past. That is why we have taken steps to make sure that every home has a voice. You have therefore been issued a survey code.

If your survey does not include the code when it is submitted then it will not be counted. If we receive multiple survey submissions with the same code then only the first survey submission will be counted.

If you don't know your code then please contact one of us at the following phone number or email address: Kent Brenneman at 512-260-2744 or kbrenneman2@austin.rr.com, Mike Graeber at 512-259-9427 or mgraeber1@austin.rr.com, or Larry Whelan at 512-260-6677 or larryw@univista.com.

Please do not be shy about passing out our information. It is important that we collect as much info as we possibly can electronically. This will help us quickly get a complete picture of what you are thinking while also cutting costs for everyone so please do us a favor and talk about this with your neighbors. Please ask them to contact us so that we can get their email address. We want to talk to everyone in the neighborhood we can.

PS: Please rest assured that any individual homeowner data we collect WILL NOT be divulged for any reason.
